OUR STORY

Michael and Cori were blessed to cross paths in Galveston, Texas almost three years ago. Michael, at the time, had graduated from the University of Texas A&M Galveston but decided to continue his journey there due to his fondness for the small town atmosphere and friendships he had cultivated along the way. After much consideration, Cori had decided that the nursing school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston was the best fit for her lifelong goal of becoming a nurse at MD Anderson. Ultimately, these choices made during this interim changed the trajectory of their lives for the very best.

With the simple combination of their favorite pastime and a four legged, bright eyed, and sweet spirited German shepherd, their fate would be sealed. It was a warm summer day, with a cool breeze, which spurred both Michael and Cori to decide on a pool day at their apartment complex. Cori’s one intention was to relax and unwind after completing a difficult exam that day. With a book, headphones, and sunscreen in hand, she ventured out to the pool first. Michael was not far behind, with the idea of taking a brief respite from work. While Cori was poolside, Michael decided to introduce himself and five hours later, they were still talking unknowingly paving a path both of them were not expecting which would lead into a relationship that would change their lives forever.

Once Cori graduated from UTMB, she began her dream job at MD Anderson in Houston. Simultaneously, Michael was searching for a new career path in the Houston area. Shortly after, Michael moved to the Woodlands and had a new job working for The Reynolds Company. With two new careers, and a wide variety of hurdles, Cori and Michael thrived and lived life to the fullest as they created memories and made the most of the time they shared together. The bond they forged became unbreakable with the final pillar being the acceptance and approval of both families.

In October of 2024, Michael officially asked the Srack family for their blessing as he wanted to ask Cori to be his wife. They graciously accepted him into their family and the planning of the engagement began. Shortly after Michael picked up the ring, he drove directly to Cori, knelt on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. Cori, completely surprised, said “YES!!”

We are so excited to begin our lifelong journey. Please join us in celebrating the next amazing chapter in our relationship. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 3rd of May 2025, and we cannot wait to dance and enjoy an amazing evening with each and every one of you.
